This is information about the Fading Star Forest. This isn't official yet, since Rayne still has to tell me what she thinks of this information, but this is what I have so far.
Fading star forest
General: The Fading star forest consists mostly of foresty land far, far to the north and slightly west. It is far away from any human settlements. Humans are rarely if ever seen there. Only two rivers run throughout the entire land; most fresh water comes from small ponds and lakes.
History: According to legend, the Fading Star Forest was named such when a pair of lone wolves met long ago. They had elemental powers: light, darkness, sky, and plants, and were shunned because of it. They met and became friends, and, seeking shelter from a storm, they traveled through a cave and wound up at a Looking Pool (Landmarks, 1).
As the storm cleared, they could see bits of the sky. As they looked, the brightest stars seemed to fade, to disappear. The wolves were awed and confused, doubting whether they had imagined it, but decided to stay there and make the land of the fading stars their home. Thus the Fading Star Forest was born.
Climate: A four season zone with fierce winters, warm summers, and mild springs. Usually, in the summer the temperature rarely reaches about eighty-five degress Fahrenheit. There is a lot of precipitation of all types, and hail is common.
Landmarks: There are tree major Landmarks in the Fading Star Forest
1. The Looking Pool: The Looking Pool is a pool of water you can reach by traveling below the earth in a cave. A waterfall above streams down onto massive pillars of stone. Because of the opening at the waterfall, you can look up and see a lot of sky. The water will flow down into a pool that is regarded as sacred. The Looking Pool is surrounded by stories. All alphas of all Fading Star Forest packs gather at that place before they are officially alphas.
2. Gathering Trees: Place where Fading Sky Pack meets for pack meetings. Over years, logs and dead trees were dragged to the same spot to create an elevated area. Individual logs serve as steps to get to the top. A speaker will usually ask permission before going up and addressing the pack. Announcements of Death, Birth, promotion, war, peace, and all other major events are official once addressed from the Gathering Trees.
3. Butterfly Rock: On the border of Fading Sky land, at the farthest point south, there is a dip in the land. A rock with a composition of something that looks like a mix of granite and rose quartz sits at the edge before the dip, and you can see a great distance from that point. Called Butterfly Rock because butterflies gather at that spot for unknown reasons. In part leads to the belief or myth that butterflies live in packs similar to wolves.
